Who are we?

The Satos (pronounced “Sah-Toes”) Run Club was started by Blake Wageman, an avid runner and dog lover. A sato is a Puerto Rican street dog; read more on the ‘What is a Sato?’ tab to learn why Blake chose this name and mascot, and how she hopes to help satos find homes.

Coach Blake has been running…forever (since middle school)…and has been coaching high school since 2019. She believes in the power of physical activity and the positive impact it can have on young people. Physically, of course, but more importantly - the way running can have an impact on your mental health.

While running can be everything for some of us, it can be for fun, fitness, or secondary to a main sport for others. Blake believes at the core of running, it should be enjoyable and regardless of your ambitions, she’s here to show you how.

Coaches Kim O’Malley and Brian Stotts are instrumental in assisting Coach Blake establish and develop this running club. Both are avid runners as well, with a passion for increasing experiences for the young kids in our community.
